WOWZA! Tom Felton To Attend Chasing Cotards Premiere!
It once again bring me great pleasure to announce that another star from the Harry Potter series, the man who plays the evil Draco Malfoy himself, Tom Felton is going to attend the Premiere of Chasing Cotards at the BFI IMAX Cinema on May 8th 2010.
Amazing!
It is a little known fact that, even though he plays an evil and confused character in the Harry Potter series, in real life – that couldn’t be further from his personality. Tom is one of the nicest people you’d ever be lucky to meet and is always a welcoming and joyful person to have around a film set.
He is also an extremely talented actor who is destined for great things in this next stage of his career. Tom has an interested eye on all things independent and is always searching to take different roles in high or low budget films. Between making Potter movies he has been filming some fascinating projects like 13 HRS, The Apparition and In Between The Waves.
I know for a fact that Tom dabbles in independent cinema and has a great love of the silver screen. This is why Chasing Cotards, a short film created purely for BFI IMAX release, has caught his eye.
I know that he is extremely excited about coming along and, as a favour in return; he will be receiving a kinder egg from me as a gift. That is chocolate AND a toy! Two gifts in one! It does not get better than that!
The heat is really starting to boil on this project now and I can’t wait to show you the finished film on 70mm IMAX prints.
Until the next exciting update folks (Friday most likely)!

NEW DATE FOR PREMIERE – Saturday 8th May 2010
Just a quick one to say that we have had to change the date of the premiere to Saturday May 8th 2010 for what is all, I promise, good reasons.
There is no delay on the schedule for completing the work on Chasing Cotards and this definitely isn’t a funding reason – it’s purely to help the running of the evening be a hell of a lot more smooth in its delivery.
One of the main reasons, and these sparked the initial discussion for the date change, is because a couple of people who have been instrumental to the making of our ambitious project wouldn’t have been able to make it. For example: Christine and her manager Yvan. They have been so essential to the project that it was simply breaking our hearts to not have them there. This allows them and a few other important people make the new date.
The date change also helps our publicity team, Cult PR, our filmouts team and the people creating the final sound mix in Canada (more news on this next week).
The final reason, for us changing the date, was because there is quite a big event happening on the same night that was leaving many of our crew conflicted about which one they should attend. Seeing as the other event was a charity night…it makes much more sense for us to move to May 8th.
I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, that this Premiere date will never change again… so, once again, KEEP THE DATE FREE, SHINE THOSE SHINY SHOES, PICK OUT A GORGEOUS DRESS, SHARPEN UP THAT SUIT AND MAKE SURE THE TORTOISE DOESN’T ESCAPE… BECAUSE ON…
…SATURDAY MAY 8TH 2010…
YOU ARE GOING TO THE BFI IMAX PREMIERE OF THE BIGGEST SHORT FILM OF ALL TIME!
I can’t wait to see you there for what promises to be an exciting night!
Invites will be being sent out this week. Please make sure that you RSVP as soon as possible.
There will be, again, some exciting updates this week!

CHASING COTARDS TO BE SCREENED ON 70MM FILM!
This is the best news I have had in an extremely long time… I can confirm that we WILL be screening at the BFI IMAX on 70mm film.
That means all our hard work, all the blood, sweat and tears have been worth it because we will be screening at the very highest quality available to us. It also means that shooting on the hunky chunky over-sized monkey camera that is the Vista Vision was worth it. It doesn’t matter now that it was a nightmare to get it to the location. It doesn’t matter that it took 15 minutes each time to load the damn thing. It doesn’t matter that it kept breaking down and had to be constantly fixed by the amazing Andy Bowman on an hourly basis. It doesn’t matter that it ran through film at twice the speed and meant we couldn’t do any takes over 2 minutes when we ran down to short ends. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter because the reason why we shot on that specialised, antique, beautiful camera was because of the hope that we might be able to filmout and blow up to 70mm IMAX print so that we could hopefully fill that BFI IMAX screen.
I have to say that when we announced the date for the premiere, it was with a back up plan. The back up plan was to screen digitally with a 2K projection. This was in case we didn’t raise the funds for the highly expensive 70mm film. Which was a definite, and scary, possibility.
Now, there is no shame in screening digitally and if there is anything wrong with the 70mm prints, or if it is lost in transit, then we may still have to screen a digital playout. But we never ever wanted to and hope that we don’t have to on the night. I have to be honest here and tell you that I didn’t think it would be possible to have a 70mm print for Chasing Cotards. I was starting to accept the fact that the Premiere was too close and we didn’t have enough funds or any leads to make it happen. Lets remember that we were originally quoted £15, 000 for an 8 minute 70mm IMAX filmout. That was well over a year ago and the film is now about 10 minutes – meaning that the costs were going to be higher! It was a figure that had been hanging over us like an ugly albatross laughing and smirking at any progress we made quietly thinking to itself, “they can get as far as they like… they’ll never be able to afford me!”
Well, what that ugly albatross and myself didn’t take into account are the powers of the remarkable Samantha Fazackerley – Producer extraordinaire! For those of you who have been following the blogs over the last few months, you will remember that on the final day of the shooting we required a 1000 ft of 35mm film of the same make that we were shooting on. We needed it while stood in the middle of the countryside, on a Sunday afternoon, and we needed it within the hour. Taking into account that hour happened to be the lunch hour as well; chances were pretty slim that Samantha was going to be able to pull that one out of the bag. One hour later Samantha walked onto set with the exact make of 35mm film, 1000ft of it, and handed it to the camera team. She then turned around and walked out of the room to sort something else out. I’ve never seen so many industry professionals look as shocked as they did in that moment. It even provoked Andrew Scott to turn to Sam at the end of the day and ask, “Where the hell did you get that film?” when saying goodbye. Samantha just smiled and said, “It’s a secret”.
Well… she did it again.
Samantha has been speaking to a very lovely man called Tim Knapp who works for CFI / Technicolor in the US of A. Yes, that’s right, TECHNICOLOR. You weren’t expecting that were you? Anyway… Sam was able to make contact with him after a lead from Matt Adams in the UK office and started to chat over the project with Tim about our extremely ambitious project. It turns out that Tim is quite possibly the nicest man in the world and is extremely excited about the biggest short film of all time! He also understands how difficult our journey has been and how much of an undertaking it has become to be where we are today. I can’t and won’t be able to go into the details of what has been agreed… but what I can announce is that we will now, apart from any natural disasters, be screening Chasing Cotards on 70mm IMAX filmouts at our Premiere.
That last sentence makes me happier than you will ever believe.
Now… I want to be absolutely clear here and make sure you are all aware that THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE FULLY FUNDED. We still require funds for some Post-Production work and the BFI IMAX PREMIERE itself. So we are still on the lookout for sponsors, private investors and anyone who would be interested in screening something at the IMAX before the main presentation of our film. Please be in touch if you are interested in any of the above.
But… just so I can say it again, while drinking a glass of whisky and spitting it into the ugly albatross’ face:
We will be screening Chasing Cotards on 70mm IMAX filmout at our Premiere.
Happy days.
Until next time my 70mm friends,
Ed.
A happy Director.

Zebedy Rays Music Online Video Launch!
Last November myself, Rob Garwood, Samantha Fazackerley, Gareth Hay, Mark Adams and the lovely people of Worcester decided to make a video for the soon to be huge Zebedy Rays.
It was a lovely Sunday of messing about, frolicking, dancing, play fighting, cake eating, horse rocking, rubix cube solving, skateboarding, photo taking, hiding, seeking and bottom squeezing!
My plan, as director, was always to keep the camera static and make it all about the action within the frame. A challenge, but when making anything creative I think it’s important that you challenge yourself to do things that are difficult. I knew that the hard work would be in the editing and that is why I was keen for Rob Garwood (also our producer) to edit the video. He is a man I respect as an editor and I was sure he would be talented enough to pull it off. Rob, after many frustrations with my demanding ways, has managed to pull together what I think is a wonderful example of what can be done on no money, but with A LOT of love from the people of Worcester… and, more importantly, A LOT of talent.
This music video is also the absolute polar opposite of Chasing Cotards… so you can see diversity in my work. I only work on either side of the spectrum… there is no middle ground. Hopefully my next project will be somewhere between the two.
Anyway a huge thank you to everyone who helped us out on the day and a massive thank you to the Zebedy Rays for simply being the best unsigned band in the country at the moment. Fact.
So sit back… click your setting to rock or roll and enjoy the music video for 18 and Wondering by Zebedy Rays.
Chasing Cotards Update:
Tomorrow we will be announcing something huge for the Premiere of Chasing Cotards… keep your Vista Vision eyes open.
Are you excited? You should be…
Until tomorrow folks!

WOW! Rupert Grint Confirmed for BFI IMAX Premiere!
It gives me great pleasure to announce that one of the stars of the Harry Potter series, the man who plays Ron Weasley himself; Rupert Grint will be attending the Premiere of Chasing Cotards at the BFI IMAX Premiere.
We approached Rupert to attend the event because we know he is an admirer of independent films and ambitious projects. He has, in between the hugely successful Harry Potter series, been making some interesting career choices in terms of roles. I for one thoroughly enjoyed his performance in Driving lessons opposite Julie Walters and the upcoming releases of Indy flicks Cherrybomb and Wild Target appear to be exciting, outside the box, projects.
It’s because of his interest in these kinds of “out of the box” movies that he will come along and watch the first presentation of Chasing Cotards at the BFI IMAX Cinema.
We are currently talking to all sorts of exciting people about attending our Premiere and I hope to have some updates for you leading up to the evening. For example, just the other day Tom Felton himself was tweeting about us… another famous face excellent actor discussing the biggest short film of all time can only be good for the profile of the project. Check out his tweets here:
Hopefully this is the start of many wonderful things leading up to the Premiere of Chasing Cotards: An IMAX Experience.
Until the next update folks!

Exclusive UK Premiere of The Invasion of The Not Quite Dead trailer at Chasing Cotards BFI IMAX Presentation!
Samantha and I had a LOVELY meeting with The Indywood Project chief and commander Antony Lane on Sunday afternoon. We were meeting to discuss the possibilities of having the UK exclusive release of his trailer opening the event we have planned at the BFI IMAX.
Antony, who was accompanied by his extremely lovely girlfriend Kate, is a man that many of us filmmakers should look to for inspiration. He has been attempting to raise £100, 000 for a feature film that has no outside influence and, by golly, in the last 10 months things have really picked up for him. With a never give up attitude he is on track to raise the funds and has created this with a smart marketing campaign that reaches everyone on Twitter and beyond. So much so that he has had Ken Russel and Jonathan Ross himself supporting the project on his way to 30, 000 people following him on Twitter. Antony has a passion that is needed to get a project off the ground and I know for a fact that he will get his done.
That is why I am buying a Producer Package from his website and I encourage you all to do the same here:
http://www.theindywoodproject.com/
You can also follow the indywood project on twitter here:
http://twitter.com/indywoodFILMS
On meeting Antony, we had watched the trailer, decided it was certainly good enough to open the evening and wanted to strike a deal with Mr Lane himself. A deal that will be kept within the confines of our friendship but certainly one that helps both parties involved.
I am also happy to say that Antony slots perfectly into our only lovely people are allowed to work on or be involved in this film rule. One that has kept us going this far and has meant we have been able to work with some of the nicest people in the film industry and the world.
I look forward to watching the trailer for The Invasion of the Not Quite Dead on that BIG BFI IMAX screen. I know you will enjoy it and, hopefully, some of you will help Antony get his film made.
Other news
Samantha (Producer), Stephen (Executive Producer) and I are very excited about meeting Mark Lo and Paul Thomson on Wednesday evening to listen to and watch the first pass of the proposed composed music for Chasing Cotards. We’re going to watch it on a big screen and soak in the proposed tones for our story. I know this is a brief update, but after that meeting, probably next week, I will update you all on how the music and sound process is going. It’s all good news so far, but I should know more in a week.
Jack Hughes (VFX Supervisor) has just informed me that we should be in a good place towards the end of this week regarding all the shots in the movie. We have been lucky enough to feed out some of the shots to facilities around London who are all doing us BIG favours for us for that BIG screen. I will also do an update on this next week to let you know where we stand with the Visual Effects in the movie. All I can say is that I am extremely lucky to have Jack and Thomas Muller (CG Supervisor) working on this movie. Those two guys are really working every spare second they have trying to make the film be as good as it can be. You seriously cannot say thank you enough to that sort of attitude and I will be eternally grateful for their help.
Now… the reason why I have to wait till next week to update you on the Sound and the VFX is because there are some extremely exciting updates coming this week. I plan on blogging everyday – so keep an eye on the website for the updates and there should be a new one each morning. I hope to have an update on; IMAX filmouts, the first presentation of the Zebedy Rays Music video, directed by myself, and a very special announcement at the end of the week - one that should send you all into the weekend very happy indeed.
MORE NEWS TO FOLLOW… KEEP YOUR FILMIC EYES ON THE CINEMATIC SKIES.
Until next time, very shortly, folks,

Art For Sale to Help Art set Sail
I come to you with a tear in my eye and a warm feeling in my heart. Our extremely talented artist Christine Comyn and her lovely manager Yvan De Backer have offered us something very special indeed.
Yvan, who I have to say has always been a pleasure to work with from start to finish, phoned me to let us know that they would like to help the fundraising of Chasing Cotards (as if they haven’t done enough for us already!?). The gallery, and company, that showcase Christine’s work are called Absolute Art Gallery (http://www.absoluteartgallery.com/) and through them Christine has offered us the chance to sell the paintings on her behalf. Basically the deal is that, if we sell the two paintings, half will go to Christine and the other half will go towards funding for Chasing Cotards, including its Premiere at the BFI IMAX on Saturday April 24th 2010.
This is EXTREMELY exciting news!
Such is the quality of Christine’s work, and a testament to how good the paintings truly are; we already have interest in one of the paintings. The interested party should be travelling out to Bruge soon to view the painting one final time before committing. This means that one painting is still available if any of you lucky people are willing to offer an interest in the piece of work.
Christine Comyn is not one of these artists who simply knock out paintings every week. She is a highly acclaimed and respected artist in Europe and all over the world. Christne works when the art grabs her, when she feels inspired enough to paint, and when that happens – magic is created on large canvases. Have a look at her work through her website here:
As soon as I saw one of Christine’s paintings I was blown away and turned to Samantha and said “That is exactly the sort of painting I want in Chasing Cotards!” Samantha and I, while holidaying in Bruge, then asked if we could meet the artist (expecting to be turned away!). Luckily for us, the timing was perfect and all the Chasing Cotards stars were aligned that day, and Christine was scheduled back in about 10 minutes. We waited, and after a brief chat, Yvan invited us back to Christine’s workshop. As soon as we walked in there to see more of her work, and after having an tremendously amicable conversation with both Christine and Yvan about the project, we both fell in love with them and all of Christine’s work. We knew then that we had found our artist and no other artist was even an option after that point – Christine was perfect for the job.
Then, 9 months later, Samantha and I opened up the paintings that Christine had created for Chasing Cotards. We were both moved so much by what this meant, how much hard work had gone into creating these paintings and by how beautiful they were that we both cried.
They were perfect.
So… if you are looking to hang some breathtaking art in your house, or if you would like to assist Chasing Cotards jump over that final fundraising hurdle or if, simply, you have an affection towards the project and would like memorabilia from the biggest short film of all time, this is your chance!
I have attached photos to the bottom of this blog to remind you of how stunning these pieces of work truly are, so please be in touch if you are interested. You can contact Samantha or me on the numbers and emails below:

I promise you that one day, when I do have enough money, I will happily make you an offer on one of these paintings for more than you paid for it. It breaks my heart not being able to buy one now.
Lots of Art Love,
Ed.

Olivia Grant Interview Video Blog
A lovely video blog is now online with Olivia Grant discussing Chasing Cotards and her part in the short as the character Elizabeth. Olivia was kind enough to let us into her home to conduct this interview and I think you’ll agree it’s an extremely interesting watch and Ms Grant does come across as lovely and sophisticated as she is in real life. The keen eyed of you will notice that there is a North by Northwest poster behind her with a lovely Vista Vision logo!
The Interview was filmed and conducted by Stuart Kershaw (http://www.inthedarkproductions.net/) and edited by Rob Garwood (http://www.littlemanfilms.co.uk/)
In other news:
VFX
The first VFX shot is complete! Jack Hughes and Thomas Muller are hard at work to complete what is an extremely challenging task for them. Because they are working at 6k – it is taking 9 hours to render ever shot when they want to see a version of it. This, unfortunately is having quite a severe affect on their schedule. Meaning we may have to feed some work out to VFX houses who are willing to do a favour for The Biggest Short Film Of All Time! If there are any reading this now and you want to try and make it possible for a VFX Supervisor and a CG Supervisor to get some sleep – it would be very much appreciated.
We have a VFX screening at the IMAX on Saturday morning to see the first 3 Visual Effects shots on that big screen. It should be a good test to see how subtle we can be on such a large screen.
Christine Comyn
Unfortunately, and this makes me sadder than you can possibly imagine, our esteemed and highly respected artist will not be able to make the Premiere on April 24th 2010. As the way is with extremely talented people – they become busy. Christine has an exhibition of her work in Versailles on the same day and it is therefore impossible for her to come. Because we feel it is essential that Christine’s presence at least be there – we will still be showcasing some of her work on the night and will film a little blog that we can project onto the screen. That way she can say hello, even if it is only through the magic of cinema.
The Sound of Music
We are very close to confirming a sound team and a composer. I should have some exciting updates for you if not by the end of this week, but next week at the latest.
The Premiere
The Cult PR have designed the preliminary invitations and they should be sending them out soon. Please make sure you RSVP to these as we have to make sure every single seat is allocated sooner rather than later. It will then save us from giving your seat away if we don’t hear anything back from you. The last thing you want is to turn up and find Jackie Chan* in your seat! He knows Kung Fu and could probably take you.
We have a meeting next week to discuss an extremely exciting Independent teaser trailer that will be screened before the IMAX Premiere of Chasing Cotards. Check out the website here:
http://www.theindywoodproject.com/
The Indywood Project has had one of the very best publicity campaigns I have ever witnessed – with Jonathan Ross already buying a Producer pack for the project! Chasing Cotards and The Indywood Project are meeting up to discuss how we can work together to benefit both projects. This is something that I highly advise and admire in the Independent Film market. As far as I’m concerned… we all have to help each other because no one else will! Chasing Cotards and The Indywood Project are a fine example of what you can achieve with grit, determination and a “never give up” attitude.
Funding
This is another reminder to everyone that we are not yet fully funded. We still require about £15, 000 to make this Premiere be everything that our 3-year dream has been building to. We have been working too hard for the project to disappoint at the last hurdle.
If you know anyone who may be interested in Private Investment or a Sponsorship deal for the BFI IMAX event then please do let us know. We are also still on the look out for celebrities to attend the Premiere. That way the sponsorship deals will flow like wine, so to speak. We have some very promising sponsorship, funding and celebrity leads but I have been on this project too long to count my cinema tickets before they are printed.
There will be some more updates shortly regarding everything Cotards.
Have a lovely time people,
Until next time dudes!

*Jackie Chan is NOT confirmed for the Premiere. But CAN definitely take you.

THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DATE OF THE PREMIERE.
Dust off your smart suits, shine your shoes, buy some more after-shave, bleach those white socks, buy a stunning dress, sparkle up your jewelry and save the date in your diary…
On Saturday April 24th 2010 we will be inviting you to the BFI IMAX presentation of The Biggest Short Film Of All Time: Chasing Cotards.
Don't get me wrong, we still have a lot to do and money to find, but we've decided… this. is. it.
We can't wait any longer, delay any further, deadlines are good and we think it's only fair on all of your schedules if you can book that date in now.
Also, I want you to know that you needn't worry. We do have a back up plan and could, if pushed, screen the film at the BFI IMAX next week. However, it wouldn't be the event we all want it to be – that is exactly what we require further sponsors and investment for.
The plans for the red carpet event are still underway but, at the moment, it is looking like there will be a drinks reception before the screening where you can view paintings by our wonderful artist Christine Comyn (http://www.christinecomyn.be/) and take a look at the infamous Vista Vision Camera itself up close and personal. Then you will be ushered into the IMAX theatre to watch a selection of short pieces, possibly a behind the scenes look at Chasing Cotards, and then there will be the presentation itself of our film. I'm already all excited just thinking about it!
After the screenings are finished we will be taking you to a close by establishment for an after show party that will go into the wee hours of the night. If we… scratch that… when we raise the funds needed, the whole event should be a fantastic night for one and all.
I'm looking forward to it already.
Invitations, details and confirmations about the event to follow in the months leading up to what promises to be an exciting evening.
Until Saturday April 24th 2010 folks!
(Not really… I'll blog many times before then…)

Red Heads Rock!
Ever wondered what a PR company does? Well… they are sneaky, pesky and wonderful little creatures that manage to creep your product onto every nook and cranny of cyberspace and the publicated news.
Check out this recent Chasing Cotards "poll":
That's right people… we are being talked about in The Mirror online; the start of many exciting prints about Chasing Cotards. Keep your eye out for us because we will start to sneak our way in front of your lovely eyes.
We all officially love Cult PR and everything they are doing for us. They receive huge high fives and massive cyberhugs from us.
As for other news:
- Samantha, Stephen and I met up with Mike Roberts from Yes/ No Productions about our IMAX sound mix. Mike was a tremendous help and offered to mentor the sound for the project. He has a great background in IMAX mixing from working on the acclaimed STOMP shows and will be there in case we have any hurdles to jump over closer to the premiere.
- The grading session has been booked. Our infamous grader will be doing the work on the short over the weekend of the 27th March.
- The cut should be locked very soon. Andrew is just about to send me the latest cut and I am waiting with childlike excitement and glee.
- We re-interviewed Olivia Grant last week and our next video blog should be a nice little edit of that chat.
- Film and Video Maker Magazine are publishing a little piece all about the fact that we are using the classic Vista Vision Camera.
That's all for the moment… hopefully some more exciting updates coming soon. I hope that we will be able to show you our trailer because it's very special… very special indeed.
Until next time Red Head lover mothers,

Living with Chasing Cotards
It has been quite a while since our last video blog or worded rambles from my good self… so I thought I had better touch base with you all.
Cult PR have set up a couple of really exciting leads for us and potentially, around the corner, something is going to happen that will take Chasing Cotards to the next level. I won't over do it, or over sell it too much, just in case it doesn't happen. Because of that I also don't want to give too much away just yet… so watch this space and we will soon get all up in your face with news.
Latest Chasing Cotards News:
- LIVING TV TO COVER THE PREMIERE! So, boys and girls… put your finest frocks on because you are going to be on TV! Smile for the camera.
- Our EPK team recorded an interview with our wonderfully talented actress Olivia Grant. She graciously allowed us into her home to conduct the session. As soon as the footage is downloaded and cut together into a nice little edit – we will launch it up here for your hungry eyes.
- Chasing Cotards now has a beautiful teaser trailer. We will be releasing this very shortly. It's a wonderful piece of work by Andrew Walton, who worked around the clock to get it in for a tight deadline. We thank him from the bottom of our shoes.
- Thomas Muller, who is also conveniently our CG Supervisor, has agreed to do the title credits and the end roller for the movie. I am now certain these will look awesome because Thomas has an amazing attention to detail.
- We received more funding in January. Not enough to make the Premier the event we want it to be, but a lovely step in the right direction. We also have a good chance of securing another healthy investment in February. However… we still require funding – so please direct us to anyone who may be interested.
- Cult PR, Samantha (Producer) and Stephen (Executive Producer) are all working overtime on securing sponsors for our star studded Premiere. Exciting times ahead.
In other news… I am giving a lecture tonight at my old University of Gloucestershire. I studied Film Studies there for 3 years and they have invited me back to give a talk on my experiences working on Harry Potter and The Biggest Short Film Of All Time. Please check out all the info in the illustrious Cotswold News. You know you've made it when they are talking about you in the Cotswold News:
http://www.cotswoldnews.com/news/1572/from-harry-potter-to-ipods
I promise you that the next couple of weeks should be exciting for Chasing Cotards. I will leave you on one request…
If you know any celebrities or people who hold weight in the industry who may be interested in attending the Premiere – please do let us know. A famous face could make all the difference for potential sponsors.
Until next time, Film Frolickers,
Ed
Director.

Vista Vision Camera Video Blog
Here is another spiffing video blog from Rob Garwood. This is a behind-the-scenes look at the Vista Vision and the complications that come with filming with it on a modern stage. It’s well worth a watch.
In other news… Samantha Fazackerley (Producer) and I spent all day yesterday in the pub doing loads of work. I made sure that our new publicity team (The Cult PR - http://www.thecultpr.co.uk/) had everything they needed to get started on promoting our film. Samantha spent her time working out a Post-Production Schedule and making sure her Budget was up-to-date. All in all an extremely productive day and I think the benefits will start to shine through in the coming weeks. But hey… tea is the drink of gods so I don’t mind that being the only negative.
Miss Fazackerley is going to start emailing everyone the schedule and organizing the budget with all the relevant parties as soon as possible.
Funding
Over the Christmas period we received a little bit of funding. We also potentially have another good source for more funds coming into the Bad Moose Films account.
We are in a good place with funding, considering that The Cult PR have also come aboard to help us raise money for the premiere, but we still need sponsors and supporters to make this project happen. For example… economically, we could not screen this film tomorrow. I would like to raise the cash as soon as possible so that we can all relax a bit and make the next few months all about the organizing rather than the raising of funds. So, again, please let us know if you have any leads to sponsorship or funding – we can offer some good marketing deals.
Enjoy the video and feel free to give me a kiss next time you see me. I like kisses.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hello all… I hope you had a wonderful new year and that you haven’t broken too many of your resolutions just yet.
I have some very exciting updates for Chasing Cotards…
New PR Company!
We are extremely proud to announce that the company Cult PR is now joining us on Chasing Cotards.
Samantha (Producer) and I had a wonderful meeting with Matt Glass and Charli Morgan just before Christmas. Samantha and I have chosen Cult PR because they are a small company that will really be passionate about Chasing Cotards. The meeting went well and they are now going to help promote our film, the premiere and us all to various media outlets. They have also agreed to get involved in the Event Management of the Premiere because this is something they have great experience in from past endeavors. Please visit their website here:

Mitch Mitchell and Lorraine Johnson did a wonderful job at Cinesite Scanning and Recording to get the job finished over the Christmas period. We thank them so much for their efforts and continued help on our ambitious project. The files are being transferred to a 1.5 TB Firewire drive as we speak and then will be handed to Jack Hughes (VFX Supervisor) and Thomas Muller (CG Supervisor) to start making their magic.
This completed scanning also means we can start to transfer the 6K data over to our grading team at Prime Focus. PF have been ever so kind as to help us with our data management and are offering our illustrious Grader to spend a weekend applying the grade there. We thank them from the bottom of our colour corrected hearts for this.
Edit, Sound and Test Screening Updates
We have been screening the cut to some well trusted friends, piers and strangers. Now, I strongly believe that when receiving notes for work on a film it is important you have an open mind. Some people loved it, some people thought it was ok and some people simply didn’t get it. But that’s ok… that’s what filmmaking is all about. Everyone has a different opinion. However, there were a few common trends shifting through the notes. Some that I believe have to be addressed. One being that the film may be too long. I plan on sitting with my editor and looking at it with fresh eyes soon. I think we may be able to shave some time off of the latest cut and I believe the film will only benefit from it.
The sound is still in a static state at the moment. This is something that is going to be addressed asap. I will give you updates as I have them.
Olivia Grant in Total Film!
Olivia Grant, our extremely talented actress who plays Elizabeth in the film, has been short listed in December’s Total Film as ‘One of the stars of the future’ (See picture above). Seeing as there are only a handful of names on the list, I have to say this is a huge boost for her and Chasing Cotards. It also highlights what wonderful casting we had on this movie.
That’s all for now my fellow film lovers. I have a few updates of funding and there will be a new Video Blog going online early next week. This will concern everything you need to know about our Vista Vision camera.
Speak soon and try not to get too snowed under! I’m here all week.
